Long Road to Heaven is the first album of original music from Pittsburgh, PA singer songwriter Matt Pitschman.  Matt recalled the imagination he felt as a child to begin writing heartfelt songs in 2013 after being inspired by classic and modern independent country songwriters from Willie Nelson to Jason Boland.  The nine songs on Long Road to Heaven were written as Matt started performing at open mics and shows around the Pittsburgh area from 2017 to 2022.  The album was influenced by songwriting pillars such as Bob Dylan and Townes Van Zandt and employs traditional country and bluegrass, full band instrumentation.  Established musicians from southwestern Pennsylvania, including Clint Erb, Ray Bruckman and Gary Antol of The Jakob's Ferry Stragglers, and Doug Edgell lend their instruments to the songs produced by Clint and Matt.  The album was recorded in 2022 and 2023 in Clint’s home studio outside of Ligonier, PA.  Long Road to Heaven will be released to all major streaming platforms and mattpitschman.com on July 26, 2024.
